Joel Burdette, AMFT, APCC

Joel brings clinical experience supporting young people facing a wide range of mental health, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. In his previous position he partnered with families, schools, and community providers to build support plans that help children thrive at home and in the classroom, with particular experience supporting families navigating chronic absenteeism and behavioral concerns.

Before pursuing his clinical training, Joel spent several years working directly with children and adolescents in educational and camp settings — as a classroom teacher, an English teacher abroad in Sendai, Japan, and an outdoor educator and camp counselor. This background gives him a natural ease connecting with kids and teens of all ages, from early elementary through high school.

Joel holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Rhombus University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from LeTourneau University. His practice draws on training in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and child and family counseling, and he is experienced with telehealth as well as in-person therapy.

As an associate therapist, Joel practices under the supervision of a licensed clinician. He is passionate about helping children and families build the skills and support systems they need to navigate life's challenges together.
